The University of Science & Technology Meghalaya (USTM) is all set to host the 8th North East Graduate Congress (NEGC) 2026 from 26th to 28th March at its campus in Baridua, on the Assam–Meghalaya border. Recognised as the largest graduate conglomeration in North-East India, NEGC brings together thousands of undergraduate students from colleges and universities across all eight states of the region for three days of competitions, knowledge sessions, and cultural events.
This year's congress comes with nearly ₹50 lakh in cash prizes across literary, cultural, creative, and sports competitions — including quiz, debate, photography, business ideathon, on-the-spot painting, and innovation contests. A major attraction is the Bollywood Night, featuring performances by Aditya Narayan, Madhubanti Bagchi, Dharmesh Yelande, Lou Majaw, and others. The congress will also award the prestigious Zubeen Garg Fellowship to outstanding young talents of the region.
Students from Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim can register through their respective institutions or contact the organisers at negc.ustm@gmail.com or 86386 86373. USTM, accredited with NAAC 'A' Grade and ranked among the top 200 universities in India by NIRF, is one of the fastest-growing universities in the North-East.
